General-purpose slurry pumps are suitable for conventional high-concentration slurry. For high-foam conditions, a special froth pump is recommended to avoid cavitation and idling.

Depending on slurry abrasiveness, impellers, liners and other parts typically last 3–12 months under normal conditions. High-chrome alloy material can significantly extend service life.
